It has been quite a while since I have written anything and I have a lot to catch up on. We were able to travel to Paris France and Strasbourg Germany for Christmas this year. Mom and Dad met us and it was a magical trip. We ate delicious food, shopped, saw all the sights, and experienced places I didn’t know I would love so much. I love New York City and all that it has to offer but I have to say Paris is a close second. We found it easy to get around and so charming and the kids got extra special time with their grandparents.

For Spring Break we decided to travel to Ngaparou Senegal. We flew from Nouakchott to Dakar. Our Senegalese friends recently built a house and we stayed with them. It was such a great time to see a new place with people who have become such a big part of our lives. At the beginning of the year, Ella met Adja and Maodo (twins in her second-grade class). We soon realized that the three were inseparable and started getting to know their family. Anta (mom), Daouda (dad), and their older sister Marie have been such a blessing to us here. We continue to see God’s faithfulness to send us special people to do life with wherever we go. In Senegal, we zip-lined, went on a safari, ate delicious seafood, drank local juices from huge trees, and relaxed at their beautiful house. From the minute we arrived, it felt just like what I imagined Africa to be. Beautiful fruit stands, landscapes that take your breath away and people who are so friendly and content with a slower pace of life. I hope you someday find yourself soaking up the sun in west Africa sitting in the red dirt watching the waves come in. It truly was a reminder to us of God in the details of this world.
